... but I've managed to get hippy to join my 3up time trial team for 12 April.
It was supposed to be a university team, but LSE only seems to have me and Louis who are willing/able to ride so we had to cast our net a bit wider. Hippy should fit right in with our riding style, and I'm sure he'll gladly take on a large burden of the work given his technological advantages (S-works bike, coach-based training regime, silver shoes...)
Looking to improve on the 1:18 Louis and I did round the 50km course last year.

Burden? What?
I just thought I was there to hang on to the back so you got a chance at the money for having a full team?
You don't actually want me to pedal, like, at the front do you?!?!
After last year, when I let Louis off the hook by letting him do only 33% of the work in a 2up, I think this year will be much more equitable. I'm going to pace the first mile though, so we don't have any Hillingdon style heroics ;)
By Hillingdon Style Heroics you mean me sprinting up to 99% HRmax, blowing up and then not being able to pedal at more than 10mph for the rest of the course? :)
We should start slow.
That's it. You didn't look very healthy at the end of those circuit 10s last year.
To be brutally honest, my motivation for this race is speed training. I want to get as close to 25mph as possible for the race and I want to do my turns at fairly high pace so I go faster in TTs when I get back from Italy :D
That's the theory. I'll probably turn up in a bad mood with serious blood loss from a leg shaving disaster the night before and ride like I usually do in a TTT (i.e. badly).
Also depends on conditions, and these are forecast to be bleak? Wetsuits at the ready.
Now I'm in an awkward position being the slowest TT'er of the three. Any drops below your target speeds are going to be directly attributed to me. My speedo is in kph anyway so you want me on 40kph minimum for as long as possible without blowing up?
Bugger. Bagsie the downhills!
1pm Light Rain Shower
4pm Heavy Rain Shower
15mph winds, gusting to 30mph :(
ANYTHING that goes wrong is going to be blamed on you :) I've read the lfgss forum, I know the score.
There's a nice long fast bit you could do?
In any case, who are we kidding. Louis generates more power in his big toe than we do put together. Could be interesting.
Crap, my cover is blown!
You can start, Louis can sit out front for 48k and I'll finish up (if I'm still alive). Sorted.
