25 May 2003 - 25 May 2011

It seems much longer, but it's exactly eight years since I attached a computer to my old GT road bike: I no longer ride that bike, but I still keep track of how far I go when cycling. In the past eight years I've taken a few breaks off the bike - most notably a long stint between 2009-2010 - but I've still clocked up a fair few miles. Indeed, in total since 25 May 2003 I have cycled:

34568 miles

That's 4321 miles on average per year, 360 miles per month or 83 miles per week. It means I've cycled around 11 miles per day on average for 2922 days... even so, I've slipped a fair bit from this time three years ago...

... in fact, since 25 May 2008 I've (only) cycled 6685 miles (i.e. only 2200ish miles per year on average), and around half of those miles have been cycled since 26 August 2010 (i.e. the last 9 months). In fact, given I hit 30,000 miles on 14 September 2008, it would appear that between that date and 25 August 2010 - i.e. nearly two years- I only cycled 1261.1 miles.

Anyway, the miles-per-bike stats are:

GT (purchased 1999, but only kept stats from May 2003 - now broken): 10300 miles
Trek (purchased summer 2003, awaiting resurrection): 17801 miles
Condor (purchased January 2008, used as a general runabout/training bike): 5824 miles
Cervelo (purchased October 2010, TT bike): 643(.4) miles

2 things:
1- Had you been cycling west everytime you got on your condor...you'd be here already! :(
2- Awaiting resurrection? :D I thought the seat post was entirely broken...
