Paris-Roubaix Cyclo 2008: initial impressions

I was going to spend this evening (Monday) writing up the weekend's cycling adventure in France: John and I managed to complete all the cobblestones of l'enfer du Nord, ably supported by a trio of Panicos.

...however, massive overhead power problems along the East Anglian mainline meant it took me five hours to get home from London tonight, so you'll just have to look at the pretty and not-so-pretty pictures for now...

Moreover, for those who were wondering if I was ever going to crash again, I managed two falls on Sunday - one spectacular and one not-so-spectacular (and, indeed, another one simply walking across a bathroom floor in cleats...) - which means I need new handlebars, a new helmet and new skin.

I am also currently incapable of typing with any skill, owing to numb hands from all the cobble-related vibrations. How the hell they race on that, I don't know...

Awesome stuff Ed!

I'm a bit annoyed I missed this but probably for the best this year. :)

Where is the proper write up. You are clearly not working on you PhD (too busy reading local news), so put the pen to the paper and write up the bike ride. Otherwise I will...

On its way John, I'm up to 2,000 words and I've only just crashed into that wall...

You should write it up anyway, see if you were thinking the same thoughts as me ;)
