2014

Since my last post I only managed 250 miles after an epic few months at work (now I live in Ipswich, I no longer get to cycle 20 miles a day into work, which has caused a drastic deterioration in physical condition!) Nonetheless, 50 of those miles were cycled on 29 and 31 December, and I'm starting the new year with some resolve to get back in the cycling habit. First, I need to have at least some fitness as in August I'm going to be riding the length of the western front to mark the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War. Second, I've just bought a new road bike (at a knock down price in the sales) to replace my old Trek. The Condor - while good for getting about on - never really proved a sporty enough replacement for the Trek and I'm hoping that a nimbler bike will encourage me to train harder for TTs.

Another, vaguer resolution is to try and interact more with like-minded cyclists online. I'd also like to try and at least make it down to West London a few times to see my club mates at the Willesden.

Miles cycled in 2013:
Cervelo: 761.1
Condor:  1395.1
Total: 2156.2

While this is nothing compared to my heyday, it's not bad. Hoping for something in the 3,000-4,000 mile range this year.
